How is mine cluttered compared to his, they both have the standard ICS dock, one row of shortcuts, and a clock widget. Actually that's probably the least crowded of all my home screens, the rest are packed full of widgets.

I like having everything I use everyday right when I turn the screen on. I hate opening the app menu. It isn't a desktop, it's a phone.

Screen 1: FoxFi for PDANet
Screen 2: Tasks Task Manager (excellent task app)
Screen 3 (Main): Uhm... Minimalistic Text clock widget
Screen 4: Minecraft Mobile Admin, Beautiful Widgets for the battery widget
Screen 5: QuickPic, the best gallery app I can find, Minecraft Mobile Admin widget, and B.net Authenticator

My homescreen, the only one I use. Only flashed the phone a few days ago so I don't have much on it.
Currently running a pure ICS firmware based on the Galaxy Nexus. Soooo much nicer than TouchWiz (and that's coming from a fan of TouchWiz).

Use Nova Launcher! I can't stand the always there Google search bar..

Also, what's the icon with no text?

You can remove the search bar on trebuchet launcher as well, I took it off mine after posting that screenshot.

I did have Nova Launcher on before I flashed pure ICS. Tbh I prefer the standard launcher, and I use the search thing often.

The unmarked icon is called Flashlight or something, and turns the camera LED on/off.

It does require root to install it.
