what sound card would i need for my desktop to use a z5500 system? its 5.1

You don't need a new soundcard to run those. Your onboard sound is most likely 5.1. Although its not the greatest sound, it will run it just fine. What motherboard do you have?

A descent sound card would work much better though.

If you have a decently new motherboard you can see if it has a digital out....then connect the Z-5500 that way
