First and foremost i would harden the host, patch the OS, patch any applications, reconfigure Windows Firewall and IE if thats the prefered browser of choice. You just dont want just an anti-virus, you want a whole Internet secuity suite, one that i highly recommend is Zonealarm, they use the Kaspersky anti-virus and anti-spyware engine for their scanning and its very resource friendly as compared to others such as Norton. Don't get all crazy and start loading anti-virus programs left and right, there will be massive conflicts with the anti-viruses that go deep into the OS and slow-downs on boot-up and shutdown. Although through experience customers usually ignore anti-virus programs and turn them off for faster bootup times and overall speed and ignore update notices, if you customer is a total internet noob and will click anything, have them play in a sandbox where the browser is isolated from writing to the hard drive
