wanna delete unnecessary programs

I have just purchased a laptop with Windows EX Home edition on it. Before I do anything, I want to delete EVERYTHING that is not necessary -- you know all the extras that are thrown on for your possible future use that do nothing but take up space. Is there anyone out there who can direct me to the proper information?

What i personally do i use the CD that is given to me and just reinstall Windows from scratch. That way i have a fresh install of the OS without anything extra. I make sure to note all the drivers that i am currently using so i can re-install them later. After XP is re-installed i can then install my own applications that i want to use.

you can disable a lot of stuff in here
