Vista Loader on Windows 7

I upgraded to Win7 from Vista about 2 months ago. Now I'm installing Ubuntu in a dual-boot, but when it begins prepare disk partitions it tells me that my computer has multiple operating systems on it, and lists a 51.1GB Win7 partition but also a 9.8GB Vista partition. Is there a reason that I should have a 10GB Vista partition? If not, how do I get rid of it safely?

That is the Recovery Partition installed by the manufacturer so that you can recover the system to factory settings if there was a major issue.
