Safemode??

i tried to install a program and it told me that i might be running windows in safe mode

how can i check that???
and what is safe mode and how to access it

i have HP a400n

you get into safemode by pressing F8. Do you see the version of window in the middle of the screen on top? what about the word safe moe in all 4 corners of the screen? you probably dont but if you are, thats what it will look like

well then your not in safemode

you probably dont have the vid drivers installed, or at least 16bit color chosen (256 or something maybe selected). Check that, because if you run a program requiring at least 16bit, and it isn't set then it will error and saying something similar.
