Default rookie question here... need some help please

i need to clear my computer and reinstall windows xp to get my computer running right... i should know how to do this.. but i dont! can you guys help??? i know its a stupid question. but thanks

Let's start with some basics....
Do you have your windows xp cd?
If you do, you should be able to boot from the CD and then follow the instructions on reformatting the drive and reinstalling.

Boot from win XP cd choose to delete partition and the choose to create new.

Get the Partition Magic ulility, It allows you to make boot disks to delete and format the partitions in a windows environment for for the nubsor in you all.
Another cool thing about Partition Magic is that it actually lets you make multiple partitions easily, for backing up that data that your about to delete. The Windows XP installation disk is all you need after that.
