I'm new to this forum and I have to say what first caught my eye was the professional way it is set up. That is usually indicative of the quality of help you can expect. Not to be underestimated when you consider how many well meaning forums there are who suffer from the One Eyed leading the Blind syndrome.
MY question: I was using Windows 7(64bit) Speech Recognition which was set to run at
startup. I have never had any problems with this service until yesterday when, to solve an unrelated problem, I ran MISCONFIG and changed the startup selection to diagnostic mode. After solving the problem I returned to normal startup and discovered that sapisvr.exe was no longer in the startup lineup. All attempts to start it manually elicited the error mesage:
C:\Windows\Speech\Common\Sapisvr.exe
A referral was returned from the server
System Restore is not an option as using diagnostic mode has somehow
deleted all my restore points. Also, trying to run Sapisvr.exe in
Administrator mode or changing the UAC settings in services.msc has no effect.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get this started again without having to do a Repair Install?
