Recovery Dvd's= Factory Image?

Hi techies. I am selling my ASUS G60JX laptop. It did not come with an OS backup dvd, as with anything purchased from best buy, so I can not reformat it I assume. Although the laptop came with a program called AI Recovery Burner, which gave you the option to make recovery dvds, which I did. I am used to dell pcs. My questions are:

Are these recovery dvds i burned essentially equal to Dells factory image restore?

Is this all I can do before selling my laptop?

How would I go about doing this, just insert the first dvd and boot to cd/dvd drive first?

2. I would recommend running DBAN or Killdisk on your HDD (free programs...just google for them...they're bootable discs) to erase any sensitive data you may have.
