Arrow Please help me, im a n00b

Hello everyone, i need some help because i currently have windows xp home on my computer and i have windows xp pro disk. i want to get rid of everything on my hard drive and then install xp pro onto my computer. Could anyone tell me how to do this please?

boot from the disc and follow the directions, choose new install by pressing escape, then when it shows the drive delete the partition and create a new one.then choose install xp, it'll format it and install xp.

a lot of times when you do that, it leaves folders and stuff behind what I do is boot from the cd and then install, not from the desktop
