ping/firefox working fine, IE wont connect

On my father's computer (which he needs to use IE to access a certain site), he is connected to the internet and firefox works fine, however internet explorer is unable to access any pages. I'm sure it's some setting i cant find, and i was just looking for some help. Thanks -juturno
