"It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection may be using one or more protocols that do not support Plug-and-Play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account."

I get this error everytime I try to disable my connection. My brother doesn't get it and I never used to get it. I've also tried exiting any programs that my be using the internet but still it wont disable.

Maybe someone could shed some light on this?

Thanks

right-click on "my computer", click "properties"

click the "hardware" tab, and click "device manager"

When Device Manager pops-up, click on the Network Adapters box, and right-click on the one you want to disable, its self-explanitory from there....

I've gotten this problem before. I fixed it buy uninstalling and re-installing the network device.

Go into device manager, right click on the network adapter, and click un-install. Then right click anyware and click scan for new hardware. Your system will find the network adapter and attempt to re-install it.

If it needs 3rd party drivers, be sure to have them on hand before doing this.
