I installed a 1TB SATA last night (other hard drive died) then proceeded to install the recovery disks (Vista). The whole install ran smooth and said install completed successfully press OK to restart your computer. Did that and now you get the load screen followed by a black screen and the little white blinking cursor and goes no further. Did I miss something?

here's my specs if required.

try starting it up in safe mode and see if that works, also you might get more help if this were posted in the Windows section

can't start windows in safe mode. I tried to tap F8 while loading...i tried to hold F8 and nothing.... I just keep getting the flashing cursor. Any other suggestions?

Does the Vista disk have SP1 or SP2 on it? If neither, then you'll need to remove RAM so you are down to less than 4GB, as Vista had trouble installing on systems that had 4GB+ RAM.
