Hey guys,
I got a laptop running Vista Home. The wireless constantly disconnects and when it does connect I get extremely slow speeds like dialup. I'm finally on vacation and have some time to play. I tried plugging it into my network using a cat 5(same one my PC downstairs uses) and it's faster than the wireless connection, but still getting speeds like 20kb/sec on sites like MSN messenger and DivX.
I was just passing it off as a ****** wireless router. But now I think it might be a Windows Vista issue. Figured I'd come to this forum and see if any of you know what's going on or if there is a security setting somewhere that would be limitting this.
Here is some specs incase you guys need them:
Lenovo Laptop
Broadcom 802.11g wireless card
Realtek RTL 8139/810x NIC
On another note, anyone here know how to turn off those annoying user account control messages?
Thanks guys
