Microsoft Silverlight

Is Microsoft Silverlight needed for anything? What does it do? Except than taking 4Gb of my hard-drive?

Microsoft Silverlight is not a 4GB app. It is just like Adobe Flash player. It is used for a browser plugin. That is it. Unless you have a app installed for development of Silverlight.

It is Microsoft version o ftha flash player. That is it. So what ever is taking up that 4GB it isnt Silverlight. And if the fodler says that then you have problems. My Silverlight folder is only a few MB big.

Hmm, at add/remove, it IS showing 3,99 gigs. But i can remove it if its only for flash-like?

Sometimes the add/remove isnt accurate.

Unless you've recently installed some sort of dev or game that requires it, I would just delete it. Worst case you can reinstall the smaller silverlight app.

Make sure to save a restore image, etc.

Hello,

You can if you want. Silverlight is only used with IE and Microsoft sites right now. It has not been widely used or accepted by many other places.

My Silverlight shows 1.30 MB.
