major problem need help asap

the user was trying to create a image of the hard drives useing norton ghost but what they did is cloned the c: on the d: and got rid of everything on the d: and that had all the information the user needs
is therew anyway or recovering the information that was lost
we got win xp pro on that machine

you will not be able to recover everything, but you can try recovery programs like "Easy Recovery" to recover as many files as possible, or u can ask some professionals but it will be very expensive

i cant try system restore that is in win xp

if he cloned the partition to d: everything is delted from the file-table...XP system restore will not work at all

the files are still on yer harddisk, although most will be damaged
programs such as Easy Recovery scan the HD surface to find unregistered files and they put them back in the file-table

ya but it is just a demo and can only recover 2 files
