i just did a fresh install of XP 64 on my rig, installed the CD that came with the mobo for network and various other drivers, restarted my PC and now my keyboard and mouse don't work at all once windows is loaded. did the same thing in safe mode. how do i fix this?

If PS/2: Shut down machine, unplug kb/mouse, re-plug in. Boot up machine.
If USB: do what paton suggested and unplug/replug them in while in Windows.

Also look in the BIOS and make sure "USB keyboard" is enabled as well as USB mouse option (I've seen them in some BIOS's before).

it's not a problem with BIOS because i can use my USB keyboard to get into BIOS. And replugging in doesn't work, that's the first thing i tried. PS2 keyboard works in windows though, i just don't have a mouse. I need to uninstall the pnp USB drivers and see if that detects them again.

Aye, that's what I'd suggest. Reinstall USB drivers, and possibly chipset drivers.
