How do you turn off the internal microphone in vista sp1 home permium

i need to know what i need to do to disable the internal microphone on a dell inspiorn 1525 using the vista home premium os system

Okay? It is still the same as it was in XP....

Start>Right click on Computer>Manage>Device Manager.

Only difference is XP you click on My Computer not Computer.

when i start> computer..... it doesnt say device manager

it is a dell inspiron 1525 with vista sp1 home premium os

ok im in device manager part now what do i do?

You can't disable the mike without disabling the the whole sound device from the Device Manager. Which means you would also disable the speakers. The best you can do is go into the mixer and mute or disable the mike.

Go into the Control Panel under Sound. From there select Voice then Volume. Use the Mute button there on Line In to stop it.
