hello everyone,
my harddrive recently crash due to bad data cable. After I had replaced the faulty cable with a brand new one, when windows loads up, the screen pops up to have windows scan the drive for any inconsistencies. I let it scan, as I cannot be bother to "Press any keys" to bypass the screen everytime I boot up the comp. The scan found multiple errors and automatically proceeded to correct the errors. I check the drive afterward and found that, while most of the files are ok, a single folder containing approximately 140 gigs of data no longer exists. The drive status says that the drive used up 250 gigs, but the current files available to me only correspond to 100 gigs. So it should still be there, I just can't access it.
These files are valuable to me and cannot be easily replaced. I would greatly appreciate any pointers to recover these lost files.
Thanks in advance.
