Hello everyone,
I am new to the forums and I am a total ignorant when it comes to computers :/
I am using windows XP.
I am looking for an application that videos or saves what is going on on the computer. I mean, I have a little brother and he is deleting all the browsing history and everything after he finishes using the laptop. And I am really an ignorant when it comes to computers so I don't know what to do. I want to see exactly what was going on on my laptop. Is there such applications ? What should I do ?
Thanks a lot.

You mean like screen recording software? It exists, but is very evident that it is running and easy to exit out of.

Best thing to do would be to setup Parental software (such as K9), and/or create a basic user account on the system for him that has limited access rights, and then password protect the main account that has admin privileges.

Thank you very much. Seems very useful. But if I decided to create an account specially for him I will ask you later how to make it have limited access rights and such ;)

Also. I found an application that saves all the text typed on the computer anywhere, are those applications a trap ? do they steal my passwords or are they really trusted ?

Well they're technically keyloggers... Really I guess it depends on where you got it from whether it's a trusted source or possibly malicious.

Aha. Do you know any trusted sources or trusted and free keyloggers ?

Can't say that I do.

Better way of dealing with your brother would be to talk to him about it rather than trying to snoop on him.

But K9 Web Protection would probably be one of the better parental software suites you could get.

That's useful but not enough. What I really want is not to keep him from watching porn or such. I want to see his chats.
Thanks a lot for helping I appreciate your help Thank you.

That's a bit out of our scope of help (keyloggers).

If he's using a chat application that's installed on the system, then you can turn on conversation logging through that - but running a keylogger software is too much of a grey area for us to comment on.

Best course of action would be to be up front and ask him about it.
