help!!!!!! hal.dll and ntldr missing

I have an old dell dimension 8100 that ran like crap. Today I took the hd out, put it in another computer and formated it. when i put the hd back in the dell hoping to install xp pro, it gave me a message, "ntldr missing press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart". I cant do anything at this point.

did you boot from the installation CD?

You'll have to replace the ntldr file on your current harddrive. Insert your OS cd and copy it from the i386 folder.
