Default help (f1) not working

I have Windoes XP. When I press F1 (help) from the desktop it refuses to work again. Before, I was able to fix this problem by copying the help file to c:\windows\pchealth\helpctr\binaries and rebooting, but now even this doesn't help. Any other suggestions.
