OK I made a mess of a 200GB hard drive and so I used KillDisk on it to wipe it and reinstalled Windows. The problem is that after installing Windows it is now a J drive, not C. Why is this, and is there any way to make it back into C before I install all my software, etc?

Thanks.

Hi,
How many partitions do you have?
You can use partition manager software, it allows to move your partition from one to another without loosing any data.
Due to intuitive windows wizard, you can do it safely.
Also it's very usefull program for the future. You could easily resize partition of any size.
Tried software.

do you have card readers , like for your camera ? more then likely picked that up especially if you leave a card in. If xp there is a way to change it back.

using drivemapper of partition magic will fix it, but I would reinstall windows since you haven't install nothing yet, and pay attention to the partition page. I used to do this occasionally in my early day of reinstalling windows
