Hi, I've just purchased a new laptop which comes with months trial of windows 365. I don't use it that much but all my docs on old laptop are windows 10 (I had the package from my old company so do not have an activation key). I don't really want to pay a yearly charge, I think it's too expensive for something I do not use that much, are there any free similar versions anyone can recommend? also what would happen to all my old documents when I copy them over, will I be able to open them?

thanks

thanks very much

what happens to all my old docs, will I still be able to access them?

Yes. The free office suites strive to be able to read/write MS Office files. There may be some of the more elite elements of Word or Excel that aren't supported but, overall, the compatibility is very good.

LibreOffice is also pretty good but I think that is made more for Unix systems, worth a try though. Still available for Windows.
