Crypt.dll help

alright so when I turn on my computer (which is windows XP) it loads up until the point where the windows user login would be and then tells me that lsass.exe can not run because cryptdll.dll can not be found and I have to reinstall it.

so right now I'm in the recovery console from the XP installation CD, but I don't really know what to do from there. I guess what I'm trying to do is locate and reinstall the file.

Help is greatly appreciated

okay so I ran the CHKDSK based off of someone else's advice.. It said one or more errors were found but it didn't tell me how to fix them.... Is this even relevant to my problem?

just do a repair install instead of using the recovery counsel. Keep in mind you will need to do all of your windows updates for it reverts windows to the version on your cd.
