Default copy pasting, the process

Hi
I was wondering what the process was when one copies stuff to the clipboard.

is the entire file copied to the RAM or just a link.

is there any way you can copy multiple objects to the clipboard
e.g. Ctrl +1 copies the first object
Ctrl +2 copies the second object
Ctrl + n copies the nth object.

and then you could selectively past an object.

When you copy and paste files, after u select "Copy" windows doesn't do anything with the file except log the file(s) and where they are. Then once you hit paste, it then copies that file to the new location using the RAM and processor and so on. As for copying multiple objects and putting them in multiple locations... i don't believe so. But if u hold ctrl down while selecting files, u can select each separate file, or holding shift while selecting two files with highlight those files and all the files in between. And just in case u might not have known this one... ctrl A with select all files in that window. The same thing goes for words in documents too.
