I need to wipe an "old vista" copy from my hdd. Can I just shred it with ccleaner or something , or should I do it another way?:confused:I think it may be slowing down vista load times. Is it possible that both O.S.'s are loading?

well, if one of your OS's is infected with a virus then yes both are probably screwed, but other than that your old install should have no effect on your newer install other than maybe hosting the BCD file.

try the steps in Osiris's guide to see if it is an infection..

No you can't remove it with CCleaner. CCleaner is just a program to remove temp files. Do you have this "old vista" installed on a separate partition? Or did you install the "new vista" on the same partition as the "old vista"? If you didnt install it on a new partition, then you're going to have to reformat the whole drive and start over; if you did put it on a different partition though, you can just format that one partition.
