Default what is the difference between Xeon and Pent4?

ok.... i was just wondering what is the difference between a intel pentium 4 processor and a intel xeon processor? thank you.

I believe the major difference is the cache size, and the xeon is used in dual processor servers..mostly.

Thats what I was going to say. If you watch the TV commercials for IBM Servers, it has the Xeon logo in the upper left-hand corner.

xeon cpus are used for servers sheerly because of there double cpu capablity and huge cache size. Thus providing say a 3.2 xeon when acompanied by an other xeon in the same machine to almost double cache to almost double everything. Providing a more powerful cpu and systme. Right now there are mobos in whitch you can have 2 p2 on it and make it run i think to 1ghz seeing this mobo only supports 350mhz cpus so its really a plus.
