Question what is the difference between direc3d, open gl and glide

hey guys i was just wondering what the difference is between direct 3d, open gl and glide

In programming term Direct 3d is easier to use then openGL. The way Direct3d is setup allows users to read the code like they were reading a book.

OpenGL is more compatible with a wide variety of systems, its transportable. Direct3d tends to lack in transferability.

OpenGL is a standard for many systems unlike Direct3d where it's main use is gaming applications.
