video card advice

I have been offered a pretty good deal for a video card:
ATI Radeon 9550 256MB AGP 8X Video Card - $150 from ATI's site. I found a local place selling it for $90, brand new in the box. Is it a good card, and a good upgrade from the chipset i have now? I dont want to play graphically extensive games on it, just ones from 2003-2004 or so.

i'm in the same boat as you. right now, i have an old geforce 2 mx 400 from 4 years ago and i think i'm gonna get this card to run in my 4X mobo

i have a fairly new mobo, ASROCK, that supports 8X AGP.

Its just that its a cheap video card, and i want to know if it will actually work for games...

Talldude yeah it should on medium to low. if u can try get a 9800 or nvidia 6600gt or 7800 if u got the money.

Why not, go for it. It should handle the basics. I'm playing CSS on integrated video on my laptop, so you shouldn't have a problem If you do, something is up...

i dont know jack about video cards. But if that one is good, then i'll try it. Plus my integrated video has ate 2 monitors, they dont function anymore.

talldude go for a sapphire card they are cheap. I had this card it would totally kill the card you were thinking about buying.
