As this thread is still going, I am a great fan of Seagate, I am running a pair of SATA barracudas in my current rig, but also have a 250 gig WD Caviar for mass storage. I would not buy another Maxtor drive, I had a 40 gig IDE Maxtor that lost a head and proceeded to shred itself about 6 months ago. (no model number I am afraid).
