Default Intel Core 2 Quad (Yorkfield), DDR3 ram??

Will ddr2 memory be replaced by ddr3 memory when yorkfield is released next year?

doubt it, I haven't heard anything about Intel and DDR3

though AMD is going DDR3 when they release socket AM3, along with their K8L CPU's

their AM3 CPU's will actually fit into socket AM2 aswell (but not vice versa, AM2 has one more pin)

yea, thats what cool about the am3...plus amd has the mem controller on the cpu, so correct me if im wrong, but dosent that mean that if you put the am3 cpu in an am2 system you can use ddr3? need to know this stuff neways, as im bout to build a new system in jan/feb

I have to agree.... While I actually like Wiki, but for something on the speculation of future technologies, I would rather see it in an article on a well respected tech site, rather than on a website than can be edited by anyone and their brother.....

Then again, if you read what it says, it clearly states that it is speculation.
