Hd formatting
 
my 12 gb hd crashed so im trying to put a not* formatted 15 gb hd in it but theirs an error message when i turn on the laptop. but when i put it in another laptop it works. so what im trying to do is get the 15 gb hd formatted, but i dont have a floppy disk on this laptop and i dont have a xp installer. and i also need instructions on how to formatt the 15 gb hd.

Try to put the xp cd in and it should format it for you

lol, u wana to format, and u dont have any os? u can download linux, but i doubt u know how to install/use it.

can u boot up to windows? are u trying to format a hd thats not ur os? to do so just go in control panel, admin tools, coomputer management,
then disk management. Or just creat a boot floppy from the pc u are using now, and boot to dos, and just reformat from tehre.

ya i can bot to windows and no i dont know how to use linux i herd its hard, so i stick with windows, and yes its my friends old hd so since my laptop hd crash im replacing it with his laptop hd and want to format it
