what does fsb/front side bus mean? like if u have 533 or 800 fsb..is it really a big issue when u game like not too hardcore but sort of like age of empires or dungeon siege or somethin? post me back quick
FSB is what calculates your MHZ. Let say you have a 400MHZ FSB with a 11 multiplier, then 11x200 (because when you do FSB you multiply 1/2) 11x200=2200MHZ, also 2.2GHZ. It is better to have a low multiplyer and high FSB, which is why AMD powns intel because athlon 64 processors have 1600MHZ FSB and intels only 800 and that is why they suck.
AMD's dont have a FSB, that's the hypertransport. And mine is 2000mhz hypertransport
On all computers the FSB controls the speed of the ram and CPU and connects stuff.
On Intel the FSB handles the memory and all the connections unlike AMD which uses it's (faster) hypertransport which completly bypasses the FSB on the north bridge
