I replaced a hard drive in an IBM Thinkpad 570. I booted, fdisked and formatted the C drive. Then I go to install the drivers for an external CD-ROM that is powered from the laptop either from PS2 or USB. Doesn't seem to work on the PS2 so I use the USB. It lists, Adapter not present. It goes on to install the drivers successfully. States the D: = Driveer USBCDROM unit 0, and leaves me at the A: prompt.
When I go the the D drive and type setup, I get CDR101: Not ready reading drive D. Abort, Retry, Fail.
I retry and it says: CDR103: CDROM not High Sierra or ISO-9660 Format format reading drive D.
I'm guessing it's not seeing the CDROM.
I can not get back to the fdisk or format screen. Keeps telling me Bad command or file name.
Can anybody help me out?
Thank you in advance.
Frustrated.
