Default cdrom.. on raid controller

Is there a way to hook up a cdrom to a raid controller, in my previous post i was asking about making the raid controllers just to be extra controllers. Anywho, so i put a hd on ide 1, installed windows, yada yada.. Now it shows the hd on ide 4 (raid) but not the cdrom on ide 3.. i've heard you can't really use a cdrom on a raid controller or something.. but is there a way?

IDE raid controllers don't have support for ATAPI which is needed to use a CDrom on it. They are designed to work only with hard disks.
There isn't a way, and for good reason.
