Whatever happened to BTX? - GTC

Intel killed it.

My computer uses 1.5A-load, .8A-idle, .65A-standby, .05A-turned off on 125V.

BTX was a good idea, but it was Intel trying to force its own standards... sort of like MS, but without as much of a monopoly.

AMD FX 8320 x8 Black Edition / Gelid Tranquillo / MSI 970A-G43

btx failed because it was designed in the era of the heat-spewing p4, now with more efficient processors, its cheaper and easier just to stay with atx as btx is unnecessary
