i had a defective HDD (which means 'doesnt work' apparently)

anyway, i replaced it with my older HDD, the 1 i had with the computer.

When i put the non defected HDD in, the computer seemed REAL SLOW!!!!! the windows xp took around 2 hours when it sed only 30minutes..i have all these bad sectors on the HDD..

what's wrong :| is it the bad sectors? (whats that :|)

it dont even start up.. it takes realllllll slow !

Check the hard drive translation mode in the Bios (i.e LBA/Large/CHS).
If the drive was originally set up using one translation mode but is now set to a different one in the Bios, I think you can get symptoms such as the ones you are describing.
