USB Keyboard not recognized

So here is my problem, i want to upgrade to a usb keyboard (currently running a PS/2 keyboard), but my computer is not recognizing any usb keyboards until some sort of OS starts up. I have heard that there is some option in the BIOS to enable usb devices on startup, but i cannot seem to find the option in mine. I have an Abit IP-35 Pro mobo. Please assist me in finding this option, or whether or not my mobo can even support this functionality. thanks!!

The option I would try in your bios is from page 2-19.

Try setting usb keyboard and mouse to bios from the default of OS in the usb device setting menu in the onchip pci device menu in the integrated peripherals menu.
