Ok, I will get straight to the point. My sound was working perfectly...but and hour later, when I decided to talk on Skype it said that the sound card was not detected. I have no idea what happened, but a few minuted before that it was working perfectly. So my question is...is it due to some virus or are there some ways I should use to check it. Thanks.

what are your system specs?
i had that problem with my audigy 2s or whatever it is and my abit board with nf4 chipset. i reinstalled the card and updated the drivers, no problem now.
also, maje sure your onboard audio is disabled. if it is on it may cause a conflict.
