Default RAM clearing?

is there any way i can clear the memory off of my RAM so i can put it on another rig? when i tried swaping ram, things went wrong and my computer wouldnt boot winxp right...

ummm sorry i do not understand you. it sounds kind of like you are talking about a hard drive. ram does not retain data after it is removed because it requires constant power to work, kind of like how you lose your settings if the power is disconnected and you remove the CMOS battery

Did you unplug everything and were you grounded when you removed that ram?

Ram doesnt hold memory.
Reset the BIOS of the other computer before you put it in.
