I have a Dell XPS2 Laptop, dont hate me for using dell. I tried to talk to them, its not that easy.
So a few days ago when I started to play GuildWars, after 1 min, i have broadband, it started to lag. When it does there is a sound emitted from around the hard drive/graphics card area. It is a small short chirp, that happens around once every sec. So I tried a system restore, I used Norton GoBack, none of them stopped it, which is why I believe it is a hardware problem. I ran some of my own tests, after all of dells tests, they found nothing. I turned off the graphics card and ran a big movie file, and in a few minutes it was lagging, but with no chirp. So it only chirps when i am using a program, but that might not mean anything. I think that since i was not using the graphics card, i was using the hard drive and it was lagging, that the hard drive has a problem.
Any help or questions would be appreciated.
