Following an investigation into why my laptop wouldnt power up i took it to pieces. I fixed the problem of the power up found out it was the power supply DUH,
well when i put it all to gether it booted but then went white screen on me.
Ok below 3 pics for your info
Advent 8115
P4 dual core 1.73, 2gb 533 hz, 100gb hdd, shared gfx
pic 1 - laptop when i leave it couple hours maybe to coold down?
pic 2 - laptop when it has been reset or turned on and left to boot into vista
the underside - mobo and brass heat pipe sinks - dual core cpu and gfx chips
** possible cause for my troubles - i did take heatsink off and not replace the compound
i do also have now put some on but ran out so dunt think it is enough
- i can when it boots with a pic boot up safe mode and even run warblade (games)
- i can hear vista boot up even if the picture is white / garbled white lines
can anyone confirm what this problem may be? i think overheat gfx or cpu
or a solution (i will pop out and get compound tmoz and try that first)
thanks for any ideas
known not to be a problem
- all cables / ribbons / connecters / hinges / bolts secure and working
- hdd - have two same laptops only does it on mine tried my hdd in other and works fine
