laptop battery issues

i have an old laptop, (1.1GHz Athlon 4 [palomino]) and there is a problem with the battery.

it lasts for a good 1.5 hours, when not under much load, however windows just reports "unknown remaining" on the charge meter, which means you have no warning when it is going to run out on you.

i dont think there is anything that can be done on this short of replacing the battery... but just checking.

Nah, there's nothing you can do to "revive" a dying battery.
