I just recently bought an 8600GT Super+ manufactured by Xpertvision. I installed it a few nights ago but my monitor wouldn't seem to work- just remained on standby. I took the card out and restarted computer and it worked.

Why would my monitor not work with the graphics card in? Could it be that I have to install the drivers first? Or is it because it might not be compatible with the motherboard?

Please help, any info would be great! Thanks.

Where was the monitor plugged in when you installed your new graphics card? In the card or, I'm assuming you've got this, the onboard graphics?
Most bios's have an 'initial display' setting in which you can specify where the system will display everything. You might have it set to PCI, you need to set it to PEG.

Was the card seated correctly? Did you remove the old drivers to prevent driver conflict? Did you turn off the onboard video if you were using that previously?
