Default Upgrading Harddrive

My 300gb maxtor harddrive is getting full so I decided to purchase a new harddrive with probably around 500gb. I will be installing the harddrive myself but I have never installed or built my own computer. The motherboard I use is a GIGABYTE AM2 NF4-SLI M55SLI-S4. I need help finding a harddrive to make sure it fits on my motherboard. Any help is appreciated and let me know if more information about my computer is needed.
Thanks.

That motherboard supports SATA3.0, so you want to SATA3.0 interface.

I recommend Seagate and Western Digital.

If I was to buy one, I'd buy the new 7200.11 Seagate drives.

Default Re: Upgrading Harddrive

this is a great one
Newegg.com - Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 ST3500320AS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
make sure you have a spare SATA cable, or just buy one from a local store
