i was origionally looking at the intel processors, but saw the amd was a 2. duel core, and the intel was a 2.1 duel core for around the same price, does there speeds not actually make a difference when it comes down to it? i dont really know the difference between intel and amd....

all the intel core 2 duo oc really well and are really fast. i would go for the intel e6420 like he said. amd is good but intel are better.

No never compare different lines of CPU's by their clock speeds alone. I repeat don't do it becuase there are many many more variables that play in the speed. For instance a 2.14ghz Core 2 Duo is about the speed of a 2.5-2.6ghz AMD X2.

However the Core 2 Duo's overclock much better than the top AMD line.
