I have been thinking and thinking of a way to upgrade my current computer, but for little money. My computer right now is pretty good. I built it back in may.
My Computer Specs:
2Gb Ram G-Skill DDR2-800
E6600 Intel CPU @ 2.4
Asus P5B Deluxe WI/FI Motherboard
Nvidia 8800GTS 640MB
2x Lite-On DVD-Burners
Zalman After market Heatsink
Hiper 580w PSU
Now the thing is that I plan to upgrade two things now.
4gb Ram 2x2Gb G-Skill
Q6600
I am going to do this for only $100. When I make my moms rig I am going to give her my two old parts (E6600 & 2gb G-skill Ram) and I will pay the difference if she would to buy them new.
The rig I am building her.

But I will pay the difference for the Q6600 and the 2x2gb of ram.
So she will have these instead:
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail
Newegg.com - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Retail
Is this a good trade off for the both of us.
Do you think that the build I am making her is going to be sufficient. Just a run on the mill computer that will run xp sp3. Also do you think that case PSU at 300w will be sufficient for the motherboard.
