Hi Everyone

My Company needs to purchase a rackmountable UPS to house

2 x HP ProLiant DL320e Gen8 v2 servers (54w to 120w under load per server)

1 x Synology DS 1813+ NAS (75W on access, 34W in hibernation)

1 x Netgear ProSafe GS724T Switch (21.5W)

idle power draw = 197W

half load power draw = 254W

total full load power drain = 411W

The servers don't have serial ports so we would need to use either USB and a network shutdown agent on the server that isn't directly connected on the other server or maybe purchase a addon network card for the UPS to send the shutdown signals directly across the network (do these work well ?)

Do you any of you wise IT sages have any opinions on these as a suitable candidate or in general ?

I would like something that would cover our current setup and also provide room for extra expansion.

also do you know if there are many differences between brands (e.g. build quality or software provided?) or anything else you think I should consider.

Thanks in advance

Michael
