Flea market people typically sell to people not in the know or are just idiots. No better or worse than a pawn shop really where computer stuff is concerned.

couldnt you just get a plug for your cars cigarette lighter and run it from there?

I had something like that. The compressor pump on it died during first use, it wouldn't jump my car on a full charge, the light sucked, and the outlets lasted 15 minutes only powering a small practice amp.
